Mysteries of the Great Basin and the Mojave tonight, as we follow the discovery of hundreds of strange ground circles north of Benton on Highway 6 and the bizarre three-clawed tracks of an alleged monster in a nature preserve just outside of the town of Joshua Tree—the latter discovered by Tanene Allison of Joshua Tree. She joins us tonight to discuss these oddball three-clawed footprints that were twice the size of her 70-lb. dog’s paw prints.
And thanks to Patrick Donnelly in Pahrump, we got looped in on a terrific mystery involving bizarre satellite imagery and last-minute scientific field studies.
What was Andy Warhol doing up in the High Desert north of Tucson, at a dude ranch? Also: Brendan Maze calls in from one of his investment properties in Victorville, where tumbleweed drifts have surrounded the development.

It’s Episode #029, for your listening enjoyment. Sure is busy around here this week. Apparently there’s a music festival down in the Low Desert. And: We remember the late, great Art Bell, with some help on the Wild Card Line from Jason P. Woodbury … who also happens to be the author of an interesting article in the current DESERT ORACLE, about the Casa Grande Domes.
As for the call-in line, call in anytime! Doc Daniels might know more about this sort of thing. Speaking of: Doc’s got an informative new article in DESERT ORACLE #7, regarding various ways you can perish in the desert.
Some new and old desert soundscapes tonight from RedBlueBlackSilver tonight: Partition Arch, Courthouse Wash, and Amber.
It’s springtime and the High Desert is very busy—not just with visitors taking Instagram pictures, but with the creatures, the creatures waking up and crawling out and feeling frisky, as they say.

Sure is nice to get on the road and get out of town. So we’ve heard, anyway. Let’s get in one of these cars and head out to the Mojave Wilderness, a night drive. Never know what’ll happen out here.
In this second episode from the little desert trailer, we have RedBlueBlackSilver on the scene, in the Outpost Project JT yeller trailer, during the recent Curate Joshua Tree’s “FOUND!” show. You’re going to hear some friendly desert conversation with Aili Schmeltz and Emily Silver from the aforementioned ventures, along with strange tales from the Salton Sea with Steven Biller, who is the author of this new piece in Palm Springs Life magazine about the curious phenomenon of DESERT ORACLE.

Cold and windy on the High Desert. Maybe some rain out there. Broadcasting from a little old yellow trailer parked over by the cactus garden at Outpost Projects’ & Curate Joshua Tree’s FOUND! art show on March 17, 2018. It was a good way to evade the St. Patrick’s Troubles. Not only did our old friend (?) Brendan Maze drop by, but Joshua Tree’s own RedBlueBlackSilver was there with a pile of weird contraptions making weird sounds. They even put us on their artists’ website & gave us some wine, it was fantastic.
Cooked up live and served to you a week later: a real desert sack lunch. Enjoy in moderation.

People sure are talking a lot about UFOs these days. Haven’t heard so much about this persistent mystery for decades. Why now, why again?
We’ve got three all-new tracks from Joshua Tree’s own RedBlueBlackSilver tonight, and in the order in which you’ll hear them, they are: “Telescope Peak,” “Sunburst,” and “Dirty Devil River.” Everybody should have a swim, or maybe a sand bath, in the Dirty Devil River, if they get the chance.
And if you haven’t heard, this show will broadcast live (more or less) on location, and with RedBlueBlackSilver and all his weird old synths, at the Curate Joshua Tree & Outpost Projects “FOUND” group art show, opening night, up here in the High Desert on March 17, Saturday night, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
Also! This podcast is now hosted by ART19.com, and that means (among other things) that we have a fine new embedded podcast player for those of you who enjoy listening off your computer.
It’s eerie out there tonight. Out here. It’s misty and dark and not very clear or welcoming, out on the Mojave tonight. Boy it sure would be a shame if something terrifying was about to occur, on the road, or along the canals and mostly dry rivers. We’ve got your PRESERVE INFORMATION radio, as well, for your informational needs while driving around the Mojave Wilderness. Do be careful. If you want.
There are new desert soundscapes tonight from RedBlueBlackSilver: “Canyons,” and then “Yucca Mesa.” And there’s your editor’s extended mix of Truth Force Drone by gurdonark (c) copyright 2005 Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial license, and a lot of weird little sounds captured here & there, in the company of ghosts.
Listen live tonight at 10 p.m. on KCDZ 107.7 FM, or right now on your iTunes and Stitcher and TuneIn and the rest. Why you can listen to it right here, if you enjoy looking at a web browser while you listen to the program:
