DESERT ORACLE RADIO PREMIERES JUNE 23 ON Z107.7 FM JOSHUA TREE

JOSHUA TREE, Calif. — Mojave Desert radio becomes more mysterious on Friday nights as DESERT ORACLE RADIO premieres at 10 p.m. Friday, June 23, on Z107.7 FM. The half-hour program brings the strange world of DESERT ORACLE—the pocket-sized quarterly published in Joshua Tree—to High Desert radio.

Hosted by the magazine’s editor and publisher, Ken Layne, DESERT ORACLE RADIO is the perfect Friday night soundtrack, whether driving across the lonesome Mojave or at home with the coyotes howling outside. Expect evocative tales of lost mines, UFOs, missing tourists, secret military projects, local legends, weird animals and weirder people. Listen on your radio or at z1077fm.com, and download full episodes each week from iTunes.

DESERT ORACLE is the pocket-sized field guide to the mysterious American desert, available at local retailers or by subscription at DesertOracle.com. It has been featured by many media outlets including the Los Angeles Times, the San Diego Reader, KCET, and NBC Los Angeles. Ken Layne has presented DESERT ORACLE tales at venues and events including Desert Stories in Joshua Tree and Los Angeles, Valley Bar’s “Bar Flies” in Phoenix, “Desert & Denim” in Pioneertown, and for Red Bull Music Academy Radio.
